Islamlar is the undiscovered and truly Turkish village just 15 minutes from Kalkan. Set in the Taurus mountains with land rich in vineyards, an assortment of fruit trees and a fresh water natural spring running through the centre of the village. A handful of Trout Farm Restaurants make up the nightlife, serving fresh, organic, local produce in true Mediterranean style.

At the heart of the village is the local cay (tea) garden which is like stepping back in time. This is where you’ll find all the local men, hard at it drinking endless cups of tea and chatting over local affairs. There is a real community spirit here amongst the locals and a relaxed, laid back attitude towards life. If you want to practice your Turkish, this is the place to be.

There are a handful of holiday homes to be found in Islamlar, but strict local by-laws restrict the building of properties, ensuring the character and culture of Islamlar remains undisturbed for years to come.
